No drugs involved, says Owen's attorney

Owen Wilson did not suffer a drug overdose on Sunday but he was taking anti-depressants, the actor's attorney tells Access Hollywood. The actor, who was rushed to hospital after allegedly cutting his wrists in an attempted suicide, did not have his stomach pumped, says the attorney. Wilson was found by his brother Luke in his Santa Monica home, and a 911 call report showed it was logged as an "attempted suicide." Media outlets had speculated that he was also found with an empty bottle of pills beside him, but the attorney said he was not aware of any drugs, other than anti-depressants, being in Wilson's system at the time of the incident. Wilson is currently recovering at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and has asked that people respect his privacy during this difficult time. The Santa Monica City Attorney's office has announced they will not release the 911 call made by Luke. "In reaching this decision the City believes that in many instances no person should have to worry about whether placing a call for emergency assistance will automatically make his or her medical request open to public review," the City Attorney's office said in a press release on Wednesday.

Tom defends controversial role

Tom Cruise has broken his silence and is defending his controversial role as the German colonel famous for a failed attempt to kill Adolf Hitler. "All I can say is, 'Save your comments until you see the movie,'" Cruise told a German weekly regarding the German politicians and media who have attacked his religious beliefs and his decision to play one of Germany's greatest heroes in the movie Valkyrie. "I want to think positive and concentrate on the film. I carry a great responsibility to the Germans, for whom a man like Stauffenberg means so much," Cruise said. "And I feel this responsibility to the man himself. The more I learn about him, the greater my respect and admiration of him." Cruise added that when director Bryan Singer approached him about the role, he tossed a script on his desk with a picture of Stauffenberg on the cover. Says Cruise, "Intuitively I saw a similarity in the profile of this man and myself. Naturally that's something that makes an actor curious." Cruise says he enjoys living in Berlin with Katie Holmes and their daughter Suri: "To my great delight I've discovered that my family and I can walk in the park at night and it's not dangerous."

Actress Keira Knightley took a shot at celebs like Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan for flashing their private assets. The British actress says she is sickened by celebrities who expose themselves to photographers, and claims their actions make them "s**ttier than everybody else." The Atonement actress insists that she has too much class to follow their lead. "I'm not going to get blind drunk and them stumble out and fall over and puke up in front of people. I'm not saying I don't do that in private, but I try not to," Knightley said at the Venice film fest. "The whole celebrity thing is not magic. They're real people proving they're s**ttier than everybody else because they don't even wear knickers."

Britney rakes in $737,868 a month

TMZ has obtained documents from the Britney Spears/Kevin Federline hearing last Monday that reveal Spears's salary to be an average of $737, 868 a month. Federline's lawyer claims in a declaration filed last Monday that Spears "is clearly the 'monied party' in this case." The lawyer is asking Spears to front $50,000 for expenses in connection with the custody hearing, claiming his bill will be in excess of $40,000. The documents reveal that Federline is receiving $20,000 a month for spousal support but the payments end November 15. The papers also show that the LA County Department of Children and Family Services is investigating Spears for allegedly neglecting her kids. The allegations? Poor dental hygiene as well as poor eating and sleeping habits.

Ashley Olsen lands movie role

With Mary-Kate Olsen about to strut her stuff alone in Weeds, twin Ashley Olsen is about to make a naughty solo turn on the big screen. In addition to Olsen, the new Superman, Brandon Routh, is joining Billy Bob Thornton and Kim Basinger in the Bret Easton Ellis adaptation of The Informers. Thornton will play a movie exec with Basinger as his wife, Rough will play a vampire and Olsen will play a sexually promiscuous girl. The story follows seven intersecting storylines taking place over one week in LA circa 1983.

Posh to appear on Ugly Betty

ABC confirmed this afternoon that Victoria Beckham will appear in a cameo on Ugly Betty in the coming season. An airdate hasn't been set, but her episode will film in the fall. She'll be playing herself, and herself is a bridesmaid at the gala wedding of Willhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams) and Bradford Meade (Alan Dale). Beckham's cameo will be her first acting attempt on a U.S. TV series.

Britney's former manager finally served

Britney Spears's former manager Larry Rudolph was finally subpoenaed in the popstar's escalating custody battle. Rudolph "was served probably around 30 minutes ago," said the assistant manager at Sunset Tan in west LA this afternoon. "He's employed here. He's part owner." The process server was a woman. "We asked her who she was but she just said she had a meeting with [Rudolph]. After he walked in he said, 'Can I help you?' and she just handed the papers and left. He had no idea. He then said [to himself], 'Oh, okay. Yeah. They've been looking for me. This is for Britney Spears - Kevin Federline.' I was like, 'Really?' And he just stared out the window. You could tell he wasn't too happy about it." Rudolph had been trying to avoid being served because he felt his testimony under oath could hurt Spears's case.

All is not rosy for Bridget and Tom

The arrival of a beautiful baby boy has not eased the bad blood between exes Bridget Moynahan and Tom Brady. The New England Patriots quarterback flew to LA by private jet last week for the birth of his son, John Edward Thomas Moynahan. "Tom was only allowed to see the baby for a short time," says a source. "Bridget would not see him herself." Moynahan's publicist said in a statement: "Bridget is very thankful for a happy baby, excited about being a mother, and very pleased that the father, Tom Brady, was able to be there for the birth." But an insider says, "He was only allowed to come after the baby was born. The woman would not see him, period. And she gave the baby her last name... [Tom] is waiting to find out when he can see the little guy again. Bridget is not giving him any slack on this at all." Yesterday, her spokesman said Brady and Moynahan were "together" at the hospital, but couldn't say if he was in the room during the birth. "Bridget and Tom are on speaking terms and have the best interests of the child at heart."
