Jonathan Rhys Meyers Checks Into Rehab

Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers has checked into rehab for alcohol abuse.

The Mission: Impossible III hunk, 29, entered an unspecified facility in the US earlier this week, his representative Meredith O'Sullivan has confirmed to America's People magazine.

O'Sullivan says, "After a non-stop succession of filming Jonathan Rhys Meyers has entered an alcohol-treatment program. He felt a break was needed to maintain his recovery."

"Jonathan plans to resume his schedule following completion."

Rhys Meyers has just finished filming August Rush opposite Terrence Howard and Robin Williams in New York City.
